Are REPUBS taking a DOO-DOO on their constituency???
Why is it that republican and religious and secular conservatives continue make family values an election issue. The issue of family values and morality was ONE of the hallmark reasons for the Republican take-over of congress and it was also used as a theme during Bush’s first run for office.
Read the list of “hypocrites” below and respond whether or not you think that family values was/is a “SMOKE SCREEN” to win favor and votes

There are many, many, many more. I know that I am going to be accused of being repub-coserv-basher. I am not, I know the democrats have just as many scandals if not more. However, I think that the whole PLATFORM OF CONSERVATIVE FAMILY VALUES IS A DISINGENIOUS strategy to rally votes and to swing elections. THIS LIST DEMONSTRATES THE FACT THAT NO ONE PRACTICES WHAT THEY PREACH!!!
I also believe that we are all human and everyone makes mistakes, but it is VERY HYPOCRITICAL to impose ideas that these “cultural-icons” don’t keep!
(((What are your thoughts???)))))))
Harley, You make excellent points. However, my point is not that these people are "flawed" but that they pretend not to be and get on the bully pulpit to talk about values that they don’t believe. (It is a smoke screen for votes). By the way, there is no use DIGGING UP THE DEAD AND ISSUES THAT HAPPENED 30 YEARS AGO. MY list is fairly current!

I believe it is hypocritical of the Dems to make Craig an issue when the Dems have plenty of dirty laundry. Republicans rid themselves of bad apples, Dems re-elect theirs or in Clinton’s case, keep them in Office. Here are about 10 to start with, if more are needed, inquire within.
30 years ago …lol .. look at #1. Some of the dates are when they were first caught but continued to serve the public. Why do Dems always put timetables on their arguments, as if it lessens the act. I can get you a more current list, my point was how long they are kept in office.
With the flawed "party" logic, I guess we could say all Senators are the same or all people from Idaho, doesn’t make much sense.
(D) President Clinton … we all know this one.
Sen. Daniel Inouye. The 82-year-old Hawaii Democrat was accused by numerous women of sexual harassment. (Democrats) cast doubt on the allegations and the Senate Ethics Committee dropped its investigation.
Former Rep. Gus Savage. The Illinois Democrat was accused of fondling a Peace Corps volunteer while on a trip to Africa.
Rep. Barney Frank. The outspoken Massachusetts Democrat hired a male prostitute who ran a prostitution service from Frank’s residence. Only two Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to censure him.
Former Sen. Brock Adams. The late Washington Democrat was forced to stop campaigning after numerous accusations of drugging, assault and rape, the first surfacing in 1988.
Former Rep. Fred Richmond. This New York Democrat was arrested in 1978 for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old. He remained in Congress and won re-election—before eventually resigning in 1982 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and drug possession.
Former Rep. John Young. The late Texas Democrat increased the salary of a staffer after she gave in to his sexual advances. The Congressman won re-election in 1976 but lost two years later.
Former Rep. Wayne Hays. The late Ohio Democrat hired an unqualified secretary reportedly for sexual acts. Although he resigned from Congress, the Democratic House leadership stalled in removing him from the Administration Committee.
Former Rep. Gerry Studds. He was censured for sexual relationship with underage male page in 1983. Massachusetts voters returned him to office for six more terms.
Former Rep. Mel Reynolds. The Illinois Democrat was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault with a 16-year-old. President Bill Clinton pardoned him before leaving office.
Sen. Teddy Kennedy. The liberal Massachusetts senator testified in defense of nephew accused of rape, invoking his family history to win over the jury in 1991.
"Why is it that republican and religious and secular conservatives continue make family values an election issue?"
And you think family values are wrong? Goes to show you, I notice how you failed to list any democratic snafus, having a bad Saturday? Clinton was impeached for his sexual no-no’s, got any impeachments for the republicans?
Nice try,but still voting Republican.
the repubs have not gotten rid of bush the mass murderer.
How dare you or any other Democrat take the moral high ground while human excrement such as Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank and William Jefferson continue to serve. You liberal and Democratic hypocrites disgust me.
I love you Democratic cretins who quote Foley. Foley sent e-mails to a minor but did not have sex. The Democrat’s had Gerry Studds who had homosexual sex with an underage page and he was punished by the people of Massachusetts by being reelected 6 more time. Speaking of rape and forced sex allegations, how about William Jefferson Clinton?
Offhand, I’d say you’ve summed it up, pretty well!!! Congratulations, on the loss of your blinders!!! (If you find them, give them to some of the answerers, here, who may have their’s on too tight!!!)
