The Bible is a very old book, and it has been translated and edited by humans many, many times. Humans can make mistakes. Each translator and editor took the word of God to mean something different. Therefore, we have no idea how much has been changed, what is right. That's not even considering interpretation. Still, after thousands of years, we can interpret the Bible to mean different things. Each reader has to take it upon themselves to know what they believe the Bible is saying. So, we have to interpret this possibly muddled version of God's word in our own way. This is why Christians disagree on certain areas, because so many things can be changed. The word of God is a powerful tool, in it is what we hope is the solid truth, untouched by wrong interpretations. It's scary what people can do to and with it, but it's all we've got to go by.
