When my dog runs off How do I make him come back?
I’ve only had my dog for about 4 months (He’s 3)…He has pulled away from his leash twice. What do I do to make him come back and not run?

Take him to obedience classes. You need to train him not to run away, and not continue to allow him to pull.
If he runs away and you act mad he wont come back as fast since he’ll think he’s in trouble then. If you act like he’s just playing and that you want to play too he should come back in no time.
Also when on his leash don’t let him lead you. Keep pulling him back so you’re on the same level. This will train him to listen to you more and let him know you’re in charge. Letting him sniff around as you walk is a no-no too. Make him keep his head up walking the same level as you.
In no time your pup will be perfect.
the best trick is to call his name and start running in the opposite direction as he is. if he won’t approach you, then do this and run into a fenced in yard or something like that. he should follow and if he doesn’t try saying his favorite words like "eat" or something like that. i would advise training him asap to come on command though!
There are some wonderful classes… one class taught us to put the dog on a 20 foot lead… call him to you… if he doesn’t come reel him in (and always give a treat when they come to you) NEVER yell or smack a dog when he comes to you.. recall is very important– always make it a positive experience.
He will eventually find his way back on his own but you have to get him trained properly and put him pretty much on lock down.

First find out what make him run away? We humans need a leash sometimes not to run away, if in doubt try to find your own leash.
