Where, in the bible, if anywhere does it literally say that you must not have sex until marriage?
I don’t have anything against people who want to save their virginity. That’s your prerogative. Just as it is mine not to. I’m asking because I’m curious about why god cares whether you are married or not when you have sex. And I’ve read a few passages in the bible here and there, but not the whole thing cover-to-cover, but I own one. So, indulge me…but not with what someone like your priest or pastor told you, but book and verse if you know it. The book is open to lots of interpretation, so I want to see the words for myself. Thanks.
You know, I feel really silly now, because I knew that "fornication" was sex out of wedlock. I’m most gracious to those of you who gave me some chapter & verse. I’ll be taking a look at it for curiosity’s sake. And if you’re interested, I do think it’s a ridiculous rule. A creator that can make earth & the stars above it in a week, but can’t make it so our naughty bits don’t work until we’re married? Sorry. I can’t buy that. Thanks again for all your input though.

It isn’t written anywhere about this.
Look up the word fornication, and you will see that this is the word used in scripture for sex outside of marriage. Just because the exact words are not there, it does not make it not a sin- fornication means premarital sex. And that is obviously a sin in the Bible- from the Old to the New Testament.
Again I must agree with AdoreHim. That girl really understands God.
I wouldn’t have sex because I believe in Bible. And if Bible says no, I don’t want to do it.
Anyway, if you are not a believer think why would you do it before marriage? What do you achieve? If you aren’t sure will you spend the rest of your life with that person, why would you even do it?
But, the choice is yours. Hope you’ll decide right thing.
Search the word fornication through the Bible. That is sex outside of marriage.
Romans Chapter 1
"fornicators" will not inhereit the kingdom of heaven.
Fornicators = those who have sex outside of marriage
Fornication by definition is sex outside of marriage.

The most pain any human being willingly gives to another is through divorce. The second most is through unwanted pregnancy. Sex out of marriage is selfish, dangerous and uncaring.
If you knew God you would know why he doesn’t want this. You don’t need a book.

It’s called fornication, it’s in there a lot actually and it means having sex without being married. I’m not a Christian, just a guy answering your question.
1 Corinthians 6:16-18
Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
(Having sex unites you with one other person, not to go and is viewed and judged).
Though shalt not commit adultery.
Adultery is defined as having sex outside of your marriage. Many churches, in fact maybe all churches, take this to mean that the only way you can have sex is if you are married to that person. Thus, the concept that you can’t have sex before you are married.
If you feel that it doesn’t prohibit sex before marriage, and what it really means is that once you are married to someone, you can’t have sex with someone else, then go ahead and have sex.

Fornication is sex before marriage, but you must ask God to forgive your sin and turn from your sinful ways. Adultery is sex with someone else other than your spouse when married.
God knows that men and women can even abstain from sex and God expects man to obey.

13 If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her 14 and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, "I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity," 15 then the girl’s father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate. 16 The girl’s father will say to the elders, "I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her. 17 Now he has slandered her and said, ‘I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.’ But here is the proof of my daughter’s virginity." She shall continue to be his wife; he must not divorce her as long as he lives.
20 If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found, 21 she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death. She has done a disgraceful thing in Israel by being promiscuous while still in her father’s house. You must purge the evil from among you.
Sex is supposed to be special, for a special kind of relationship, marriage. Anything else makes it dirty.
Fornication, or simple fornication, is a term which typically refers to voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other.
The origin of the word derives from Latin. The word fornix means "an archway" or "vault" (in Rome, prostitutes could be solicited there). More directly, fornicatio means "done in the archway"; thus a euphemism for prostitution.
Fornication is dealt with differently in various religions, societies and cultures.
But I say it like this being real, sex intended purpose was meant to multiply and make offersprings but religion says you should wait but the word of God said that you should wait and find your wife to commit that act with

Good question. Sex outside of marriage is called "fornication," from the Greek word, "porn-", meaning "prostitute." And the Bible counsels against fornication many times, encouraging sex, but sex in marriage!
