Are there any men out there who believe in saving for marriage?
And I’m not talking about their pennies…
Are there any men here who are waiting to have sex until their married?
Just wondering. There seems to be a lot of emphasis on this board about women saving themselves for marriage. I rarely see an opportunity for men to share about what they’re doing.
Er… uh… I meant waiting until THEY’RE married.

Yes, I do. And I know several guys who are (well they seem to be anyway). And unlike what Cliffie said above, it is MY choice. A girl actually asked me if I wanted sex once. I turned her down. And I’m not gay, before somebody accuses me of that. Honestly, I think that’s a big reason men don’t wait, if you get about to 21 without ever having sex everyone assumes you’re gay. I don’t care though, they’re idiots if they think that, only trying to justify their own behavior.
Im not sure there are alot of men saving sex for anything
I did, I waited until I got a chance to get down with a girl I knew, then all waiting ceased and wooo-hooooing began.
Sure, but more likely they are virgins who just claim that.
Like the earlier question: it’s by choice, just not their choice.
there is an emphasis on women saving it, because that is what they used to do, if they didn’t, they were ruined, and had a hard time finding a good marriage, money, title etc… and some religions believe in "saving" yourself for your partner (men are included). But the world that we live in today… it has changed things a bit. I think the emphasis on virgin women until marriage is a empty one. With equal rights, women have started to explore their sexuality. Though, because of the old ways, and religion, some people still seem to think it should be that way.
But that is just my long winded opinion.
I’ve met a few, they’re either sincere religionists or people who give it as an excuse for not being able to get laid.
Their are about 10 men who are saving for mariage. Why because when a bride wats a 45 thousand dollar weedding and the guy doesn’t care he thiks to him self why whould i have to pay for this. Men more save for the part after their wedding day. Men save for houses and new cars becuase those are things that you need after your wedding day. Pluss after the 10 grand women want us to shell out for the ring their usualy isn’t much left.
Yes.

I’m sure there are… not that I know any, but they must exist.
Yes. There are. I knew of a few.
If more men would wait until marriage more women would wait too. Hmm?
Wouldn’t it be great if the young men didn’t pressure their girlfriends for sex?
Wouldn’t it cut down on STDs and pregnancies and abortions?
It takes a lot of willpower. I doubt many have that.
C.
i know 3 guys who do
I was my husband’s first. He wasn’t waiting to get married, he was waiting for someone he’d be willing to marry.
I did, Rare, I admit. I did have a number of opportunities that came my way before marriage, and also with my then fiance, but decided against it for personal and spiritual reasons. She also had to be the right person, and I was pretty picky about that: it is a life-long commitment in my book.
Not saying it was always easy, but I guess I considered it a part of my self-image and confidence.
On, Char, from my experience (which I freely admit is different from yours), girls are pressuring for sex just as much, or even giving it away. It is not a world filled with chaste virgin girls being pressured by undisciplined guys and to many guys sex is to be saved for the right time too.
I did. That was many years ago. I have been married twice. And am currently married now. I lived a moral and religious code that required it. No double standard for Men and another for Women. I don’t regret it. Sex can be an itch that needs scratched. Or it can be a loving way to connect that is very intimate and deeply personal. I prefer to hold out for the latter. One is going through the motions the other is connecting in a very real and personal way. This is sadly disappearing due to the changes in Laws and Divorce.
Men in the West have too many Liabilities to marry. PreNups, Cohabitation agreements, metricious relationships are fraught with potential Child Support obligations and no Rights for Men. Men should not marry now, and should not even cohabitate with women.
I have advised my two younger sons as such. And advised my two Daughters to marry if they can. As it gives them more Rights and protections. I am the Father to Five Children. Their happiness is important to me. And a Grandfather to Six Grandsons.
