Would my dad win in court for wanting me to to pay him back?
i am 16 years old and he bought me a car 4 months ago and i got into a car accident so i told him i wasnt going to pay him back and i signed something saying i would pay him back the money. Tonight he told me that he was going to take me to court if i dont pay him back. What would my chances be of winning in court?

Oh, please!!! He can’t take a minor to court. He’s BSing. But you do need to pay him back.
Well i hate to say this but u did sign sumtin saying u would pay him back
you signed a paper stating you would – that pretty much seals the deal for you i assume. i dont know about the state you live in, but where i live you cant sue someone until theyre at least 18.
Okay first of all you can sign as many papers as you want it would not do him any good and will NOT hold up in any cort because under the U.S. laws you must be of legal age (18) to make a binding contract with anyone and you are only 16 just make sure you don’t sign any papers once you turn 18 and be sure to date after you sign any and all paperwork.
I agree i don’t think he can take you to court because your a minor but u need to make some effort to pay the money u owe back that is if you ever want his help again.
You’ve signed a contract that oblige you to pay. Now you’re a minor and according what State you live, it may be playing in your favor. Google this with a lawyer and find out if you would still be responsible for that money. Even a 16, I don’t know if you’re responsible to pay your own dad? You must find out, not your friends, but lawyer and see if still you’re responsible.
I wish best of luck!
Well your dad should understand that you were in an accident, but you should hold up your end of the deal and pay him back. Don’t you pay for a toy when you buy it even if you break it later on? I hate to say it but you have to pay him back. And you can totally be taken to court for this. It is very likely that he will win. So I would watch out and try to make peace with him out of court and maybe see if he’ll give you more time to pay you back. Good Luck.
