how to get rid of greasy hair FOREVER?
My hair used to be ok, but then I got a new haircut which needed styling (washing, drying etc) every morning.. after I changed the hairstyle I didnt need to style it every morning but my hair somehow got used to being washed so often that it got greasy very quickly.. now i have to wash it every other morning.. is there any final solution to this? I read about the baby powder thing, but that seems to help only temporarily
any ideas?

an effective remedy :
Take an empty shampoo bottle.
Step2
Add some baking soda in and than pour in a bit of your shampoo
Step3
Now add a bit of water to make a paste.
Step4
Shake, wet your hair and wash it with the paste
Step5
Leave on for 15 minutes. Than rinse out, and wash your hair with your normal shampoo. It will add volume to hair and you can say goodbye to that greasy look
I have the same problem. I have to take a shower every night or morning otherwise I’ll have greasy hair. It sucks.
change some of your shampoo
shave it off or get a buzz cut
The only permanent way to get rid of it is to get older. I had hair just like that when I was a teen, but I haven’t had that problem in a very long time.
And, I don’t think hair "gets used to" being washed every day. I wash mine every morning in the shower. Oil comes from your sebaceous glands–washing your hair doesn’t affect them.
Definitely don’t use a conditioner or a conditioning shampoo, btw.
Electrolysis
no offence but you should be showering at least that often anyways hun.
Use clarifying shampoo at least once a month to get rid of shampoo & hair products residues.
there are no solutions
same thing, my hair is real greasy. I have to wash everyday. my friend puts a little baby powder in her hair. I havent tried it yet though
My boyfriend has Greasy hair, but I don’t really care much…Anyway, Off that topic.
You cannot get rid of Greasy hair FOREVER…the only Solution to it is to Shower every day, and use a good amount of Shampoo…For my age, I get Greasy hair alot…But I don’t care either, I’m 13…and yeah, I shower once a week…Our shower is a peice of Crap so Eh.
every other morning? ha, you’re lucky. i have to wash mine everyday. you don’t have a problem.
shave it off.
I’m having the opposite problem right now… but theres no great way of doing it without dying your hair, i’ve tried a lot of ways before my hair went bad. You can try washing it with oily hair shampoo every day and maybe dying or bleaching it once.
answer mine please I am so desprate!

every other day sounds good but really u hav 2 train yur hair b cuz it wont do it on its own
your not sapposed to wash your hair everyday it gets dryed out.i put my haire in a pony tail in the morning right after i washed it and then the next day i took it out and it was dont greasy so i went to school like that. also you can use baby powder it helps like sucks up the oild sor whatever. hope that helped a little
Don’t use a lot of condition in the shower.
Also, buy a boar bristle brush (usually about $5 at any dug store). The bristles help bring oil from your scalp, and spread it through the rest of your hair. This makes your hair look healthier and shinier and takes most of the greasiness away
i would recommend using suave clarifying shampoo once a week
and get this green bottle of head and shoulders it says on the bottle for "oily fine hair"
ITS AMAZING. seriously, i had the nastiest greasiest hair from over-dying/ over-washing from swim season and had to wash my hair two times a day but after using that my hair calmed down and now i’m not so dependent to my shampoo
I also had some problems with my hair. But since I change frequently between different products and different brands all my troubles are gone. Sometimes I use anti-dandruff shampoo (thats my problem…), sometimes I use a revitalising shampoo then again something else.

i boil real orange and lemon juice, and i let it sit to cool, then take a shower, shampoo hair, then use the water.
I don’t think there’s a “forever” solution for this problem. Unless you are able to remove your hair forever, it will get greasy every now and then.
Hi all o have been a hairdresser for 23 years and after reading all these blogs could not help but shed some light on the facts of oily hair..
Firstly washing your hair everyday causes the sebaceous gland to work over time to replace the oils you continue to wash out.
So fact is the more you wash your hair the oiler it will become. Once you start to change that pattern your sebaceous gland will slow down and produce only what is required.
Here are a few tricks in turning it around that are proven to work.. Start by washing your hair every 2nd day wash and style then the next day use o bora bristol brush to shift the oil from the scalp down the hair shaft.
Once you have done this process successfully you then need to stretch it another day to shampooing you hair to every 3 days this is when it becomes tricky and people resort back to old habits of washing every day. To over come this you can use dry shampoo which you can purchase from most pharmacies or hair care professionals for around $10AUD or if you want a cheaper solution you can use baby powder but this may clog the pores. You can also add carb soda which you purchase at the supermarket and add this to your shampoo this also slows the Sebaceous gland all of these methods I have witnessed work time and time again.. It is not healthy for you to shampoo your hair every day as your hair needs these oils to protect it. Hair needs to also maintain a pH level as does most things on our body.
If none of these methods work for you then you need to work from this inside out. Your diet plays a big role in excess oil in you hair or on your skin.
Hope this has been helpful I promise you will have the healthiest looking hair and will be truly surprised if this does not help..
Good luck all and happy Oiling… Cheers Nikki
