My ex husband is being taken to court by the attorney general for back child support and a review on the amoun?
He got an attorney because I guess hes afraid of going to jail and they have been serving me papers. I really don’t have a problem with any amount because its been the same for 12 yrs(we agreed on an amount and it really should go up if its based on his income). I don’t feel I really need an attorney since its the attorney general taking him, What do ya’ll think…..
They are taking him for enforcement and a review. You can have a review every three yrs to either raise or lower the amount. We have never had a review and he is 8000.00 behind. I understood it to be the attorney general taking him thats why i was asking

If your husband and his attorney are serving papers to YOU and not giving them to the attorney general then you may not have direct representation from the attorney general. You really should contact the attorney general’s office for advice.
If I were in your shoes, I’d hire my own attorney just in case… Do not accept anymore papers from your husband or his attorney and don’t sign a THING until you have direct representation.
You don’t necessarily need representation if there is an agreed upon amount, unless you find it to be unfair.
Usually attorneys (I would guess) in family court are more there as mediators, or someone to "argue" in court in the event of major disagreements like custody or refusal to pay the child support that is requested by the parent who has the kids.
