How do I get my dog to come back to me when I want after I let outside?
I don’t understand my dog, he won’t come back when I let him out. I have a chain that I put him on in the daytime, but at nighttime I don’t like walking all the way to the tree that it is connected to. Can anyone tell me a way to make him come back??

Basic obedience. Train him to listen to you and respect you instead of ignoring you. He obviously doesn’t see you as the pack leader. You should work on that.
We have this big glass dog treat jar with a lid and my dog knows the sound of it means she’s getting a cookie so anytime we need her to come in and she won’t we just jingle the lid and she comes right away!
try working with him in the house like when he wonders away from you have a lil bag of broken treats and call him to you if/when he comes to you give him a treat do this several times a day for about a week and then he’ll get it in his head when he calls me i’ll get a treat and he’ll will come to you when his name is called … if that don’t work i don’t know that’s just what i did for all the dogs i have trained
you have to make coming back more enjoyable to the dog then running around free of the chain.
i trained my dog to come back by saying come on get a sweetie silly i know but thats the word i learned with her instead of treat and she comes back no bother
when first starting use treats after the verbal cue of come. I personally don’t scold if they don’t come as I believe it reinforces them to stay away.
