So if one of those prediction would come to fail us (like we are expecting to have electricity), all our society will collapse (if cannot recover electricity). So all in all, living too comfortably will make our civilization more vulnerable to externalities and reduce our chance of survival if such occurence... So to exemplify it, if you buy an expensive car, and that tomorrow, oil supply stop, would your car help you to survived in such circumstances, I guess it doesn`t worth more than all the other cars that can have oil... So a bicycle will worth much more in this case, because you can actually use it!! See the perspective? So tomorrow you removed internet, and electricity, and half of the world population die within a year or so, just because they did not learned to live otherwise!
