Is it cheaper to book a hotel and flight together to Las Vegas, or get them separate?
I’m looking to go to Las Vegas in July, and want to get my hotel and flight when it is the cheapest. Should I book them together, or get them separate? Any reccommended sites?
Edited on 11/9 for itsa_fact…
Well, I am looking for a hotel on the main strip (Luxor, Bellagio, etc…). I would like to find a cheap deal, but still would like to stay at the hotel and casinos on the street. Bellagio and company are way out of my league, but the ones below them would be nice. Also one that has decent restaurants/buffets. A good club/bar would be great as well. But where do you get the deals like free spa days or discounted meals or even free meals or casino comps? I’m not expecting them at all, but people always seem to alk about them. If I could get just one thing free, the trip would already be a success. Again, I want to stay at least 4 nights and 5 days. Any info is greatly appreciated.

I both enjoy doing the trip planning on my own and save a lot of money that way…We’re going to Las Vegas for two weeks in December, for RT non stop air from KC and 14 nights hotel(Orleans>9 nights-Las Vegas Hilton>3-Main Street Station>2) our total cost is $341.50>each. All three hotel stays include incentives directly from the hotel, the best being two tickets to the NFR(face value over $100 each, to an event which is already sold out) try finding a package to match that..We do work at it though, we keep our eyes open the year round for the best room/air fare rates , we hold hotel rooms when we find a great deal, then keep looking…If you purchase a package deal you’re stuck with it, or you’re going to have to pay a fee to change the reservation..
We are already holding rooms for next summer, and will keep our eyes open for more/better deals to complete our trip…
Summer months are a good time to find room deals..IMHO the Orleans is the best value in LV when it comes to a hotel/casino. They "price match" any online room rate we find.. http://www.orleanscasino.com .
If I knew which amenities were most important to you I could give you a list of hotels that most closely match…Location? pool importance? cost? club/bar? restaurants? shopping? entertainment? etc? If you will come back later and add these to your question I will see what I can come up with for you!! include dates, if they’re flexible it’s to your advantage…
For LV room rates: they compete, you win..

probably cheaper to get a package deal……you can get them with meals included too…..just remember "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"……..
get a package deal more cheaper than separate one. in package deal u can get free breakfast and another benefit such as free sauna for 1 person, etc.
Depends on what kind of hotel you want to stay, nice with a casiono on the strip, or one where you have to go everywhere.
US Airways has some really nice packages. The excalibur is a nice hotel to stay at, on the strip that won’t break the bank.
together…….I use travelocity to do my bookings. I have always been happy and have never had trouble when arriving either at the airport nor the motel. The fee for service is only $5.00 well worth it to avoid any headaches that could ruin your vacation.
I’m a travel agent and it would be about the same price either way…..unless you add a car as well then it would be a complete package and if you call up a travel agent then we can find a good vendor that can get a great rate, if it is booked more than a month in advance
i have always got them seperate….also, register online with the hotels and they will send specials….i have got some great rates doing it that way
A package deal is normally cheaper, at least that’s the case here in the Netherlands.
Or you could stay at a very cheap place instead of a hotel. Than you might be better of with a seperate booking.
Surely a last minute vacation packages would be cheapest?
I think that if you keep your eyes searching that the prices would seem a steal.

Constructed on an elephant corridor in srilanka between Minneriya National Park and Sigiriya National Park, the Elephant Corridor Hotel captures the essence of nature, history and wildlife. Built with minimal disruption to the ecosystem, wild elephants find it natural to walk up to the hotel lobby or through the pathways of the hotel while monitors and wild peacocks roam our immaculately groomed lawns at sunset.
A package deal is cheaper but not satisfactory for many. Those like more freedom should not go for package deal.
Visit over a weekend. If your trip includes a weekend, you might be able to save big. Business hotels tend to empty out, and rooms that go for $300 or more Monday through Thursday can drop dramatically, as low as $150 or less, once the execs have headed home. These deals are prevalent in the Financial District, but they’re often available in tourist-friendly Midtown, too. Also, you’ll find that Sunday nights are the least expensive. Check the hotel’s website for weekend specials. Or just ask when you call.
Well they should not release any information unless you know the information already. I suggest you hire a PI or at least act like one. Rent a car and follow you mate around and see what happens. Do not be seen, or else have a friend of yours follow him around. You can also find a sexy deco, and trick him and see if he cheats.
I always book online and with some coupons, saves me like 10-20% plus some free stuf!!!
U can try travelocity,expedia .
If you are looking to travel to Las Vegas then you are in luck. Most major airports have great deals when you book in advance to Las Vegas. Most flights are round trip and if you are on the west coast will only take you a couple hours. Also, most airlines fly to Las Vegas so you will have a lot of selection when booking your flight which means there is a great chance you will get a cheap flight to Las Vegas!
Great resources on this blog. Very informative as well . Thanks !!
Well, make sure you ask them to give you a discount. Many hotels will if asked. In my limited experience most cheap hotels in central London are a bit grotty.
Yes if you are booking both at a time with same travel providing agencies you will get huge discounts. I would like to share one of this kind of agency who deals in cheap airline tickets and accommodations in star hotels with discounts. Just follow it. airline tickets
Would it be beating a dead horse to say get a package deal
Seriously though it will save you lots of money, and I always say you should plan these trips out months in advance and watch the airlines for cheap discounts they have spontaneously sometimes. Get your tickets when they are cheap. It pays to plan.
I think you would get a pretty good deal booking it together. If you do it separately, you might have to spend a lot more time doing research to get a better deal. But it just depends on what you are willing to do!
yeah, making it together will cause you to save valuable bucks and would definately save you from the hasstle.
To save on hotels, Ask about special rates or other discounts. Always ask whether a room less expensive than the first one quoted is available, or whether any special rates apply to you. You may qualify for corporate, student, military, senior, or other discounts. Mention membership in AAA, AARP, frequent-flier programs, or if you are in the military, or a government, or a union worker, which may entitle you to special deals. Find out the policy on children — do kids stay free or is there a special rate?
Good resource of link information, list of hotels that most closely match and location.
i have always got them seperate….also, register online with the hotels
I think it’s cheaper to book a hotel and flight together. What’s great is you can save time upon doing so!! That’s what we are doing,to save money and time!
In my view it is better that you book your travel ticket with those agencies who also have services of accommodation. with this you can save money and your journey will be easy.
I find it best to book seperate, when you book packages operators tend to take a lrager cut.

The good deal is booking together. If you are really looking for saving some money on your journey.
It probably depends when you book. If you have time to book early enough I would for sure recommend booking together. Many sites online will offer better deals this way.
If you want to visit Vegas then you should take complete package because these days travel agents provides widest range of travel packages. Thanks for sharing this link.
We are already holding rooms for next summer, and will keep our eyes open for more/better deals to complete our trip.

Hi, Neat post. There’s a problem with your web site in internet explorer, would check this? IE nonetheless is the market chief and a huge section of other people will omit your fantastic writing because of this problem.
