how can i get my belongings back from my ex-boyfriend?
I am breaking up with my ex-boyfriend because now i know for sure he is cheating on me. The thing is we were planning on moving in together and I had bought some items which he has stored in his father’s apartment. I have receipts for all the items I purchased. How can I get these things back from him before he destroys them.

Don’t dump your boyfriend until you get your property back (and don’t discuss your intentions with your family or friends either as it is sure to get back to him). Instead, take your receipts to the sheriff’s office (possibly the police department) and ask them to assist you in retrieving your property from your boyfriend’s father’s home. Your receipts are proof you own the property. Bring a vehicle with you. Once you have your property back, THEN dump the boyfriend. And of course since you know he was cheating on you, get tested for sexually transmitted disease! Good luck.

Addendum: And if it is too late…that he has already destroyed your goods…take him to small claims court (with your receipts) and sue him for damages. Ask for punitive damages too. All the judge can do is say no, but they might say yes too!

I would definitely get my things back before I did the big break up. If you opened your mouth already, you may pay the price with the loss of your things. Its just the way things go.
