What do you think about David Goldman’s sons stepfather and grandmother trying to get him back in Brazil?
They are going to try to get Sean back in Brazil in their custody. I don’t get it. He is Davids son and he didn’t give up his rights. So how does a step father have any right at all. Plus they want the boy to say where he wants to be. He hardly remembers his bio father to make that kind of judgment. Any thoughts on this situation.

I don’t understand either. He belongs with his biological father. The stepfather and grandmother need to leave well enough alone before they lose visitation rights and any other contact with him.

The boy belongs with his biological father; not his stepfather. The only reason why the stepfather has a relationship with his step son is due to the fact that the boy’s mother failed to return him to his legal father. The legal father has been without his son all of these years, sadly. The biological father deserves the right to have his son back and to build a relationship with him. The stepfather does not.
I don’t think anyone should have more rights than a biological parent, unless that parent is a danger to the child or lives in a dangerous situation. A stepfather has no rights whatsoever, or shouldn’t. It’s harsh if you’ve raised a child your whole life and the father hasn’t been there but the child will always wonder about it’s real father.
