How long did it take to get back with an ex?
I don’t care if people say "Move on, get over it" etc.
I want to know how long it took for some people to get back together after being apart. Did you guys remain in contact or no contact for a while? Who initiated contact?

Often, ex-lovers give each other some time and enough space to think about what happened with the relationship. With you, same thing, don’t rush and give yourself and even your ex the time and space needed for you two to patch things up. After which, exert the effort. Become a better person for your ex and then reach out to him or her. Talk to her and explain everything. Do whatever you can just to get him or her back. Good luck!

What will happen is either your ex will break up with someone and call you up as a rebound, or he will want to get back together because he can’t find anyone else and doesn’t want to be alone. This isn’t always a bad thing, if you can fix the problems that caused the breakup in the first place you could have a chance. But, make sure you are getting back together for the right reasons.
Don’t put your life on hold waiting for him. He might never want you back.
I went out with a guy for a year and a half when i was about 20. it was very passionate but we split up because we were both young and reckless. i wanted to travel, he was into partying. we stayed in touch on and off but i always maintained that he was not the man for me. then when i was 28 we met up again due to living near each other for the first time since going out originally, fell head over heels in love and knew that we were meant for each other. we have been together for 2 years and are still really happy and planning our future together. He had married someone else in the meantime and ended up in quite an abusive relationship. He texted me after they split up and we met up soon after. So our break was from may 2001 until january 2008.
I have also recently got back in contact with an old school friend. She went out with a guy for about 6 weeks when we were 16. They got back together and are blissfully happy after 13/14 years apart. You never know what secrets the universe has in store for you. It could be your ex, it could be a handsome stranger. Keep your heart open and love will find you.
There are times that it takes longer to get over with an ex, sometimes it takes a short time. It depends on the situation that two individuals are experiencing. The best way of getting back with an ex is to take effective actions, like no contact and giving space with each other.
