If things weren't working out, then maybe you should just leave it at that, play hard to get and wait for him to talk to you. If he doesn't, forget about it. Or if it was just mutual, it'd be nice to just to talk to him, and see how he's been. Not to sound rude, but from past experience, if a guy wants to talk, he would.
