What to do if wife files behind your back…?
In a troubled marriage but still living together. My wife recently filed her taxes without my knowledge and itemized our real estate taxes etc. and recieved a nice refund and sticking me with now having to file seperately and itemizing also, which of course I have nothing left to itemize, meaning I will owe over 3000.00 dollars in taxes!! What options with the IRS or divorce actions am I left with? I dont have 00! Can I reverse her actions with the IRS and force her to refile?

Call the IRS and ask ask them, but I’m sure they will tell you there’s not much you can do about this problem. Oh you can make payments to the IRS, just a little FYI.
i think you have more than 3000$ dollars to worry about.. like filing for a divorce, etc.
report her and they may audit her. that is truly unfair. i’m sure you still have shared money even though u have troubles, i bet both of your money goes towards the bills, she shouldn’t get the whole refund.
well if ya legaly still married youwould file joint but seperated if she really did file some of your assets its fraud and you should report her as such also contact a local tax attorney
Nope. She has every right to file separately, If she used your income to file than she is in the wrong. You have a right to itemize your real estate too. She only has a right to half of your itemized things.Check into this before you do anything.
