I want to become a licensed minister, but am afraid my past as a go-go dancer will come back to haunt me…?
Any advice on how to deal with this? I would think that after having been away from it for about two weeks now people would forget, but I don’t know.

Two weeks is a long time. Christians are a forgiving lot, and will probably flock to see you perform, er, minister.

It depends on what denomination you want to preach for. Some are more forgiving than others. I’d go for a more liberal church and you should be fine.

Two weeks isn’t long to forget anything! It takes time to show people that you’ve taken a different route in life and to prove yourself. I recommend being honest about your past, whatever it is. Sometimes it helps people identify with you and helps with outreach, even more so than someone who always lived the straight and narrow. Though isn’t a go-go dancer just a dancer, and not a stripper or anything?

Your past should not prevent you from becoming a minister; God’s mission is about forgiveness, He did not come to condemn, but to save. Read John 3:16-17, if this is your calling why not go for it. The enemy is using your past to bring fear upon you, do not believe it; fear is the opposite of faith. please pray and ask God for guidance, if this is what you really want to do, trust in God and He will bring it to past. If you worry about fear you will never achieve any, go for it!
