I want to make a Magic the Gathering deck, i have never played. What starter pack should I buy?
I have just learned how to play magic and I need a deck. I have a gift certificate to amazon so i think i will buy some stuff on there. I just need help on starting a deck and some strategy. I want to know what is the best starter pack to get.

You should buy what’s called a "Core Game".
It costs about 20 dollars, contains enough cards to get you started, guides to help you learn all the rules and some strategy.
After that, once you know all the basics, I suggest buying a preconstructed deck with colors you like. Those are about 10 dollars, and are full decks that contain different cards and more complex strategies.
Then you should be fine to hold your own from there on.
get some Portal(i think its called) it is what people use when they are gettin started in magic…. and if u can get a hold of the older cards before 8th edition…. they arent as complicated
Your best bet as a starting player is to get one or more of the preconstructed decks (aka precon). It looks like currently amazon has only the coldsnap precons. I haven’t talked to enough people about them to have any real opinion favoring any one of them. Buying a few booster packs as well might be a good idea, depending on how much you can spend.
Well first you need to know what colors and what theme you want to play. Then from that you can figure out what kind of preconstructed deck you need to get started with. I would go with the core sets which is the 7th,8th,or 9th core set. They have a preconstructed deck for each color with 40 cards each so you could buy 2 decks and tear them apart and put them back together. Later on you can move up to the more advanced decks or just build your own from random cards. Good luck on your deck and have fun.
My suggestion would be is to stick to a mono color deck such as Kor Armory or Vampires deck. As you go along you can build you knowledge and decks. Do not go with two colored decks they can get confusing and
you can end up losing a lot. I have a site where you can look at deck builds for when you know more and can be a kick butt player, and how to play just look at my website link.
this link here is my card site if you ever need cards too.
