Video games with complex magic?
My boyfriend REALLY loves Eternal Darkness : Sanity’s Requiem and he played Dragon Age for a week straight till he beat it. He likes games that have complex magic systems that involve combining spells to make more powerful ones. The more complex, the more he likes them.
We have a gamecube, A PS2, a really powerful PC, and soon a wii. Any of those platforms are acceptable.
Also, is it true that the PC release of most games have better graphics than the console counterparts? I think I read that somewhere.

the elder scrolls games morrowind and oblivion have lots of magic spells in them and after you buy the spells and are able to cast them then you can start combining and making your own spells.you can make some very useful and great spells in these games.you can get these games on pc,ps 3 and xbox 360,my choice would be the pc in case your into putting mods on these games or making your own mods for them.you can also check out diablo 2,this is a pc game that has a magic tree that you can choose from as you level up but there is an item that you will need to find called the horadric cube.when you put different items in here and mix them up they make more powerful items or more powerful items to enchant your weapons and armor with.there are hundreds of different recipes that are known for the cube that can be found online.this is an older game so the graphics are not up to today’s standards,but there okay. as for graphics,if you have a really powerful pc then the graphics are probably better than the gaming systems out there.hope this helps.have fun gaming.
I’d recommend the Elder Scrolls games to anybody that like in depth magic systems. In either Oblivion of Morrowind you can make pretty much whatever spell you want as well as enchant your equipment with similar effects. Both also have a lot of user created mods which also expand upon the game’s magic system. You can get Oblivion on PC, PS3, and 360 and Morrowind is available on the original X-box and PC.
As for PC vs. console? It can be true since console hardware is static and a PC can always be upgraded but it currently takes a pretty respectable PC to outclass a PS3 and/or 360. Most relatively new gaming PCs will completely crush either one in terms of graphics but it’s not like your average computer is typically any better. Dragon Age for example looked pretty trashy on consoles for some reason, a little shameful really, but it looked great on the PC.
