You loved your girl friend very much 100% and you were hurt by her and this will take a very long time to get over. Even when you think you have gotten over it some thing do come around the corner to remind you of how wrong you are. It will take a lot of will power and determination to get over this situation. To my best judgment you did put a sort of " GREAT WALL OF CHINA" as a way to protect you and your feelings from getting hurt by women in the future, or like some Computer Fire Wall to say the least. It will take some time for you to after all the that time to trust women and you have every right to be cautious of women or relationships. The trick is how to balance the two and get to a point that is acceptable. It will take a lot of time and dedication on your part to reach that goal.
