You should arrive early and go straight to the back of the parks leaving the crowds behind at the entrance for a while. Also take advantage of fast pass where you put your ticket in and it gives you a time to return where you can go to the front of the queue. this is an excellent service. Which i beleive they only use in disney.
Try to get a shedual so you know when the shows and parades are in advance so you have a plan but dont worry if you cant stick to it. You know the best laid plans and all lol
Just relax and have a great time in this awesome place having a holiday your family will remember for a lifetime.
If you want to avoid lines, I would use an itinerary and touring plans service. We have used Custom Mouse Plans and they were great! With the plans they made, we never waited more than 10 minutes for any ride, even on New Year’s Day!! I have traveled to Disney World many times, and I was shocked by how much better our trips are with Custom Mouse Plans. I have used them 3 times, and I will never go to Disney without them again!
Ok the best tip would be to stay at a disney world resort. from there you get free transportation to all of the parks. you also get to go to the parks early (short, short lines) or stay latter. to make the trip amazing for your kids make sure to bring an autograph book and a pen to get the signatures from all your favorite characters. you can even get reservations at certain restaurants to eat with the characters (it can get kinda expensive thought.) to get more answers you can go to disneyworldmoms.com and you can find almost every answer to any of your questions.
i hope you enjoy the most magicial place of all
Def go to Disney World, but I would do the Park Hopper pass and go to all 4 parks. I think Its cheaper if you do it that way too!
Since your going in may, the lines shouldnt be long at all!
Also, stay in the park, they have great deals for hotels with young kids!
A few tips:
Def wear comfortable shoes; you will be doing alot of walking lol
Also, spend your money wisely; Disney isn’t cheap (some reasonable) but just spend wisely
Another thing, since you have young kids and will be waking up early every morning, take a break in the middle of the day…meaning, in the morning/part of the afternoon, go to Majic kingdom, but by 2ish, go back to your hotel and let your kids nap for about an hour or two and take showers. Then by 5, go to Animal Kingdom; this way, the kids will be more awake and will enjoy it more and not be too sleepy the rest of the night! Disney is very exhausting, so you neeed those breaks!
Hope this helps! And enjoy!
You didn’t say how long you were going away for, but the best advice is plan. Go online to the resort websites and learn what you can about busy times, extra amenities, and reservations available. If you’re going to be at Disney more than a couple days, stay on site and get Park Hopper passes (which allow park to park access on the same day).
Staying on site will allow you the Extra Magic Hours, which allows you park access earlier or later than outside guests. This is the greatest way to get more done and avoid some of the longer lines. Each park has extended hours on different days.
Plan to take lunch & dinner breaks well before you begin the day. That many kids at that age can get tired & overwhelmed if you don’t stop and take a breather. Reservations are strongly reccommended for any Disney dinner dining.
There’s a ton of great Disney World tips on this website for first time visitors: http://yourfirstvisit.net
Especially helpful is stuff on age–appropriate rides–here: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-first-family-trip/basic-itinerary/comprehensive-guide-to-rides/
Hope this helps, and have a magical trip!! Amy
We have been serveral times and I would def. skip Universal. I would do all the parks at Disney and get a hopper pass. The 2 year old will be free. Good luck. Sorry but Universial was dirty and like a big state fair.
Disney was a DREAM!!!
Wow… You can ask 50 people and get 50 different tips. Consideirng your daughters’ ages, I would recommend staying at a Disney Resort and taking advantage of Early Magic hours to the Magic Kingdom. Once there, head straight for the rides that are top of list. Fantasy Land has the most to offer kids their age, including Small World, Dumbo’s Ride, Peter Pan, and the like. However, Adventure Land and Frontier land have the bigger/better rides that tend to attract long lines later in the morning. Splash Mountain is a must, but the height requirements might not allow three of your children to go on the ride. The Jungle Cruise is a lot of fun (if you get a good guide), and Pirates of the Caribbean is a classic that should not be missed. Country Bear Jamboree in Frintier Land is also great for small children and it allows you to sit a while and rest. To avoid long lines, get there early, visit your "must see" attractions as early in the day as possible to avoid long lines, use FastPass whenever possible, and consider dining at "off hours". For example, eat lunch at 11 and dinner at 4, that way, you’ll be in the park when most people are trying to get into a restaurant. I hope this helps.
The 3 youngest will not appreciate Animal Kingdom. There are great shows at Hollywood (formerly MGM) Studios aimed at that age group. With very young kids, the only advice is do not over plan, take things as the come. Considering you’re going in May, you will be lucky enough to avoid large crowds. Try getting a Character Meal in (Crystal Palace -Pooh and friends or Chef Mickey’s – Mickey, Goofy, Chip n Dale)
