help, i really want him back?

i went out with a boy a few times and ive always really really liked him. but the last time i dumped him because i didn’t think he really cared about me. he would never ask me how i was, and apparently he was cheating too. we’ve both been single for a while now and he seems to have moved on. i miss him though, and cant stop thinking about him.

I want him back but my friends don’t like him and also he likes other girls now apparently. what should i do?
