Is the Magic Bullet system worthwhile?
I’m thinking of getting one, since I live by myself and the single size cups would be handy. I also make a lot of stuff that can be made with the Magic Bullet, like smoothies, quesadillas, salsa, guacamole, etc. I have a Hamilton Beach blender but it’s kind of bothersome to wash it every morning after I make my smoothie. Should I get a Magic Bullet system or just keep using my blender and maybe pick up a food processor for salsa and stuff?
Lol, suggested category: Society & Culture > Mythology & Folklore
I guess because it’s "magic"?

It gets pretty bad reviews on amazon:

I’d look elsewhere, a hand blender with food processor attachment is nice, something like: http://www.amazon.com/Miallegro-9090-MiTutto-Immersion-Professional-style/dp/B00281QTE0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1265057249&sr=8-1
It’s a piece of crap and doesn’t work. I’ve learned the hard way. Stuff that is advertised on TV is all crap
i got one when i moved out for such things because it was on sale at canadian tire, cheaper than a blender. for the price, it was certainly worth it, but i don’t like it as much as a blender. it’s supposed to be terribly effective with a few short bursts, and there are warnings not to hold it on too long, but i find it doesn’t purée as well as i’d like without rather more bursts than they claim will work. it is, however, convenient in size for one person and easy to clean. it’s handy, too, that the container you use to make the stuff in can also be used to drink out of.
Skip the crappy magic bullet and get yourself a good Cuisinart food processor and blender. The blades are super sharp, they are very easy to clean (the blender totally comes apart) and are heavy-duty. They’ll also last you awhile.
I have one, and It’s good for some stuff. It’s decent for cheese, chocolate, milkshakes, and smoothies, but It doesn’t do what it says on TV. It works ok, but it doesn’t do it all in three seconds.
