My wife wants divorce. She is seeing someone. I am 50. She is 42. Son 18. I want to save marriage. Please Help?
We are married for 23 years. She do not respect my parents, friends, guests etc. We both are self employed. Most of our properties are on joint names. I saved this marriage 16 years back as my son was only 2 years that time. She told me to marry somebody else. I do not think 50 is an age to marry again. Please give me some good advice or address of help organisations. Thanks.

I can understand how much you love her. After all being married for 23yrs is no small task. However, I must ask….what if she does not want to continue with the marriage? It seems this way now that she is seeing someone else. Do you really want to be with someone who would rather be elsewhere then with you? 50 is not OLD….life is short…you never know what life holds for you…do not let fear control you. You deserve a good life…right???

When you change everything else around you changes. Really soak that concept in (even is she is wrong) if you change she will defenitly change also.
Divorce her.
1) try to save the marriage – maybe talk to your priest/minister if you’re religious or a counselor
2) 50 isn’t to old to get remarried… but you’ve both got a hell of an "investment" in your marriage…

It takes 2 to make a marriage. It sounds as tho you lost her 16 years back. I would probably seek the advice of a good divorce attny. You could have much financial loss as well.

Sorry, this is a pattern with her and you must think of yourself. She is not marriage material as she has been clear on and you need to get rid of this woman and meet new people and find real love not sham love. She is bad news and you can and will do much better. You have no marriage to save.
Sometimes you just have to let go. I am so sorry! Don’t worry about finding someone else so soon Just get the divorce over with and take some time for yourself. There problem is hers. You are just the victim. Chin up! You will make it.Good Luck!
Seriously, just get a divorce. You shouldn’t live with that bitch. She is seeing someone and is not interested in you. Trust me, she will probably come running back to you one day. But you don’t want to live the rest of your life like that. She just betrayed you in the most ultimate fashion by cheating on you. Just divorce her. I bet she has been cheating on you the past 23 years.
sounds like u should have taken her advice 16 yrs ago, women in that age group are all alike, they have no feelings, i would go and give her a divorce, and start over,i did and its not all that bad
Financially, majority of what was acquired during the marriage will be 50/50. However, she is committing adultery. If your son is college bound, child support can be order until a little order than 18. If she has come right out and asked for a divorce and you want to think about it – then ask her for a 6 mth separation. If she refuses then she is really already gone.

Maybe, maybe not; depends on who you meet. But honestly, from your description of her, I think I’d rather be single for the rest of my life.
Her seeing somebody else openly is a good sign that she is fully intent on wrecking the marriage. She may admire you for continuing to try to save it, but more likely (since you seem to have little self-respect and she would ditch you in the same circumstance) she will lose respect for you.
Is there really anything left worth saving? That is a serious question, perhaps there is something left you haven’t communicated to us.
Unfortunately you may have to accept that there might not be anything you can do to save the marriage. She’s already seeing someone else which means she’s been through with the marriage for a while.
If anything, I would suggest counceling. If you can get her to a few sessions to figure out what went wrong, and use the therapy to let her know that you do not want to lose her, that would be your best bet. There are plenty of Christian and non-Christian organizations out there who will help you. I would do a google search on Marital counceling/help for your area.
From your simple but soulful words, I can see that you love your wife and your family very much though you know your wife has some shortcomings. I think first you should have an in-depth chat with your wife to make her know your heart. If you have tried all and the result is still unchanged, I have to say that you can give up since your wife no more loves you and the family.
