Cal ties the game in the bottom of the 10th and Len (who hit maybe five homers a year) drives out a three run homer to win the game 8 to 5. I've never been so hoarse. The Orioles ride the momentum from this game to the playoffs and win the World Series. 1996 - In retaliation for the Alomar spitting incident - umpire Garcia rules a home run on an obvious spectator interference play. This changes the outcome of the ALCS and allows New York to advance to (and win) the World Series, starting their late 90's "dynasty". The Orioles have finished in fourth place every year since (thanks, Devil Rays). Can the Orioles accomplish something this year? The time is right - New York and Boston are not as good this year as they have been for the last decade. And the Orioles have jetesoned all the "me, me, me" superstars that are a cancer in the clubhouse. (What in the hell were we thinking signing Albert Belle, or resigning Palmeiro?) Have you been to or watched a game on tv lately? Unless people are dressed up in empty seat costumes, they aren't going to the games. The only time that place gets filled up is when the Yankees or Red Sox are in town and the fans are mostly Yankees and Red Sox fans doing it.
