What do you think would have been the best way to bring back Christian? Was ECW a good idea?
If Christian returned with Edge and went straight to the main event, some fans would have not been happy. I’ve read a lot of people saying, "He went to another company, he needs to work his way back up" I personally would have liked him to return and go straight to the main event, but most fans didn’t want that to happen. So lets say he went back with Edge, lets say he went into the main event right away…he wouldn’t have gained a lot of fans…he would have lost some. The fact he went to ECW and technically returned in a main event status (whether you like ECW or not, going after the title IS the main event….of that show at least). We all won this way, including Christian. I didn’t want him to go near Edge during his re-debut. He either would have been overshadowed, or buried. On ECW, I wouldn’t call that "being buried" He was in the main event going after the title. He had an amazing match with Swagger for the title, MANY MANY people have gained a lot of respect for him AND even Swagger. Christian worked his way back up, in style. He isn’t a jobber and he is going to be at Mania, in a big way. He might even win. Business-wise, isn’t putting a big name return on ECW good for ratings? The way it all happened, it WORKED. The fans are on his side and he already made a name for himself. Only good comes from him going to ECW. Why do a lot of people argue that? Why do people say it was a horrible move. He wasn’t buried, and he gained a lot of fans and respect by a lot of people. How is that a bad return? Yes, I agree…I would have liked to hear the commentators have a better reaction, but the fact his return was a huge surprise..that made it big. PLUS, Christian returning AT ALL is HUGE. I don’t know if it’s just me, but Christian seems to be very happy. He smiles constantly. He looks content and happy. I’m sure he will be rewarded for all of his hard work, not only for what he did for ECW, but for all of those years he should have been given the push he never got. That push is coming, and it will happen in a big way. It all works out for everyone. Am I crazy? Or does this all make sense to everyone else too?

With the Jeff Hardy and Edge storyline going on at that time…I actually think it was best to keep Edge and Christian away from each other. If they teamed up again it just pulls them back in their career. If they feuded, well that would be upsetting to another large group of people since it is, as you said, pushing him directly into the main event scene. would have been angry at this. I would have liked him to have a Jericho type return but considering Edge was the champion at the time, this would not have worked since they’re feud should become a major deal in the company and not just a debut instigator. That being said, ECW was the best place for him as it would boost ratings, put him in the main event, bring back older fans, and just enhance his overall character. One last thing I would have done is recognize him on RAW. They need to draw viewership to ECW, why not put the spotlight on their newest asset by drawing people from the flagship show instead of putting up constant replays that you see 3 times in one show.
Edit: One more thing. I would have him win MitB (if MVP isn’t being planned on winning it…Kane probably won’t either) and then leave him on ECW at the draft. Stabilize rating on ECW, bring in some new talent from the draft and then have him jump in on Edge’s storyline with cashing in sometime after One Night Stand and before Summerslam.
He shouldv been the attacker of jeff hardy, and it wouldv been cool to see christian and edge v.s the hardys at wrestlemania again.
Simple – Kept the Jeff Hardy Attacker Angle & Storyline the Way it was Originally Planned to be – And have Christian be the Attacker at the Royal Rumble.
Just because that Old Dimwitted Coot Vince got Pissed because the Angle was Leaked Online , Meant it had to be Changed? – BS…
You give Christian that Angle & Storyline the Way it was Meant to be , & I Guarantee , No One would be Bad Mouthing Christian , Vince , Creative , or Anyone Else – Because that was actually a Damn Great Angle.
And like Matt Hardy wasn’t just as , if Not MORE F’N Blatantly Obvious as the Attacker!?? Come on Now , Please…
ECW was Fine & Dandy. But it was SO F’N Random. Plus , Christian got Absolutely No Pop whatsoever , & Possibly THE Greatest Undersell in History from Matt & Todd – "It..It’s Christian."

Even Sadder – Finlay & Hornswoggle get Bigger Pops & More of a Reaction than Christian.
I’m just Saying – Have Christian Return on PPV at the Royal Rumble would’ve been A LOT better. It would have Actually been UNexpected , because it was SO Expected. Puts Christian WAY Over , the Fans Pop for Him , & He gets a Major Angle Right Away.
ECW is Fine , but the RR would have been Slightly Better…
The internet and spoilers ruined christians return. so they made him come back out of no where. fans wanted him at the rumble and no way out as they chanted for him loudly.. IMO if they were going to scrap christan as the attacker then they should have let him come out at no way out and cut the same promo on jack swagger he did on ecw..
The best way would have been for him to return at the Royal Rumble and winner the match. He then would’ve been revealed to be Jeff Hardy’s attack before Survivor Series. Christian cuts a promo explaining that he wanted a "real’ challenge for the WWE Championship and return to greatest and what other way then to beat the " Ultimate Opportunist"
I think that is the most sense i have heard anyone on here say in a long time. And everyone thought that Christian attacked Jeff hartdy so when he returned on ECW as a face it took everyone by surprise who thought they had it figured out and who all read the spoilers. The only thing i think they should be doing differemt is he should be domminating on ECW like no other and return some hardcore to the show. He should have put Swagger in his rookie place and taken the title a long time ago. But yeah i thought when he left TNA he was screwing himself over cuz he would get burried by the 100000000000000000000 other world title hogs on the other shows, and they would misuse him and have him job. thankyou for taking the time to ask a detailed question and give information to help us answer. Well personnally I really think it made would’ve made alot more sense if he was the attacker of Jeff Hardy. But starting out on ECW may have been a good move just so the fans can get used to seeing him around again and getting him built up might actually help him quite a bit. Especially if he wins the Money In The Bank Ladder match at WrestleMania I could see him jumping to Smackdown and challenge the World Heavyweight Champion which could be Edge. So yeah maybe having him return on ECW may have helped him.
it was the greatest thing in the world!!!!!!! im glad hes had nothing to do with Edge since his return. hes finally made a name for HIMSELF. he doesnt need to ruin it by running back to Edge n being his sidekick again. hes a quality competitor on his own. plus he’s hot!!!

When he didn’t return at royal rumble everyone said he would return at Smackdown or at No Way Out. What could wwe do?
And some people said that he would be on raw!

I think maybe they should of had Christian as the attacker. Right now I don’t know where his future is going. Vince thinks of Christian as a doormat just like Tomko. Christian comeback to Ecw was a shocker, but having lose to Jack Swagger was a bad sign for the Tna wrestlers aswell.
Tna wrestlers were probably thinking "Is this how were going to be used"?. If you think it couldn’t get any worse he did commentary with Finlay and Hornswoggle. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole team couldn’t get aany worsethen imagine Hornswoggle in that team?
So far the Tna wrestlers that are wrestling with Wwe are not doing to good. R-Truth is in the low – mid card status, Braden Walker fired, Tomko fired, and I don’t know what is going to happen to Gail Kim.
Does Christian have a chance left? Yes, but tthat’ssomething will have to wait and see.
WQ: I think Wwe should of sticked with him as the Jeff Hardy attacker. If Christian Cage doesn’t win the MITB then I don’t know what his future is.
