How do I get my female american bulldog to gain her weight back after having puppies?
I have a Johnson American Bulldog that just recently had puppies and lost over 30 pounds in the process. I was wondering what I could be doing for her to gain her weight back quickly because I do not want her getting sick because of her weight loss. What should I do?

Thirty pounds sounds like a dangerous amount for a dog to lose during pregnancy/whelping, even for a larger dog like an American Bulldog. I would suggest a vet visit to make sure nothing is causing the weight loss.
Feed her high calorie puppy food. ask the vet for a recipe of high calorie food you can give her.
I wouldn’t recommend trying to put on the weight so quick, eventually she’ll gain it back again through its natural process. It’s like you trying to gain 30 pounds quickly, it’s not really clinically safe. You’ll probably do more harm than good if you tried to make her gain quick. Let her recover on her own.
take her to the vet and find out why she is loosing the weight…feeding puppies if a dog is fed right won’t cause her to loose that much weight something else has to be causing it…
You should be feeding her high quality puppy food. If she is still nursing then feed her as much as she wants. If the pups are weaned then 1 1/2 times her usualy portion until she gains the weight back. I assume she has been in for a check up to be sure there are no other underlying health issues?

I have found feeding a mixture of Taste of the wild with the Bison and Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy is great for putting weight on. Both are very high in calories without the unwanted fillers like corn and wheat. Add to that some hard boiled egg and a bit of Nutrical and your dog should be on her way to her former self in no time.
