Magic the gathering card tips?
So i am making an elf deck and i was wondering what cards are good for this type of deck. I have herd that some of the best elf cards are not even elf cards but i dont know if that is true. so can you tell me what are some either good elf cards and or any other cards that would help my deck (like artifacts, instants, or enchantments)?
Thanks!!!

It really depends on the environment you’re playing in. I am going to assume Standard, for now.
The best Elf card is Chameleon Colossus (which technically isn’t an Elf, it’s a Changeling). Other good elves include Llanowar Elves (acceleration), Wren’s Run Vanquisher (3/3 for 2 mana with Deathtouch? I’ll take 4 of those, thanks), Imperious Perfect (pumps Elves and can make tokens), Elvish Champion (pumps Elves and gives them Forestwalk. Careful, he also affects your opponent’s Elves), Civic Wayfinder (for another two weeks he’s still Standard legal), and maybe Bramblewood Paragon if you’re planning on running a lot of Warriors.
You could try Elvish Vanguard who has a low mana cost and gets a +1/+1 counter whenever another elf comes into play
Another good one is Timberwatch Elf who when tapped target creature gets +X/+X until end of turn where X is the number of elves in play
Priest of Titania allows you to add a forest to your mana pool for each elf in play when it is tapped
Elvish soultiller is really good for an elf deck. Its special effect is-
"When Elvish Soultiller is put into a graveyard from play, choose a creature type. Shuffle all creature cards of that type from your graveyard into your library." These would give you a chance to revive all fallen elves.
Wirewood herald is a great elf card to get the card you want into play. When wirewood herald is put into a graveyard from play you can search your deck for an elf card and put it into your hand.
Wellwisher is an elf card that when tapped you gain one life for each elf in play.
Elvish Guidance is an Enchanted land that when tapped it adds a forest to your mana pool for each elf in play
As you can see all these cards play off each other to create a truly formidable elf deck.
There exists roughly 270 elves in Magic The Gathering at this time (see them all here: http://manatalks.com/mtg-cards?type=elf) so it’s not easy to say.
However, here is my top 5:
