Long USB cable to use Magic Jack?
I want to switch over to the Magic Jack system but my PC is on the other side of the basement than where all the telephone lines converge into one jack currently plugged into the Cox Cable modem.
It would be real easy for me to run a long USB cable up and over and down to make the connection but it may be about 25 to 30 feet.
On just a phone line, would I lose too much signal?
What if it was coming off the PC at a powered usb hub and then I used 2 15 foot usb cords with another powered hum in the middle of the 2?
I am hoping to run the usb over to the phone lines, then plug in the Magic Jack in at-that location. I should be able to then just plug in the one jack that all the house phones are ran off of.

Obviously "knowitall" seems to have trouble actually comprehending a written question! Since,YES, you do have to plug a phone into the "MJ" you should be able to plug the one in that all the house phones are run to.
You will probably have to rum short USb cables with a powered hub about every 10 ft. or so. Try a real long one first and see what you get or contact MJ and see what they suggest.
The MJ plugs into your computer then the phone plugs into that. You do not use the house phone lines. You may plug a cordless phone that has additional handsets and put them anywhere in the home.
Magic Jack is great.I am a customer that was left out in the rain with no telephone service.Magic Jack to the rescue. I ordered mine it came in 3 business days,i plugged it in registered and i am back in business.
Phone quality perfect,price amazing,this is a dream buy for all budget minded buyers.I wonder what kind of impact this will have on other sky high priced phone companies.
