I need help partitioning my XP hard drive?
I got the partition magic 8.0 trial. I want to shrink my primary hard drive (total:78GB free:54GB) to 60GB, which means I would have another partition the size of 18GB. I set everything up, and when I click "Apply" it doesn’t make any changes and goes back to how it was before. I tried to reboot the computer, but still no luck. I know that the only limitation to the trial is that it’s only for 15 days, so there shouldn’t be any size restriction, or something like that. Any other FREE partition applications/software download links would also help!
Thanks in advance! =)

Its what I used to make a partition for Windows 7.
Just download the iso, use ImgBurn to put it onto a cd (http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download) and put the cd in the computer.
I don’t know how to do it on your computer, but you have to make it boot from the cd, once you have done its pretty easy to work out, but it will take a while for it to create the partition.
When its done, It will boot up and you will have a new partition
Hope this helps
Try Linux. Also, partitioning a hard drive will often destroy all the files on it. Good luck. =^]
