online nonsense romance?
A guy had been pursuing me heavily on a chat forum. He wanted to date me etc etc. I like him as a person, but was not sure online dating was a smart move since we didn’t live close by. To put him out of his misery, i went on cam and we saw each other. The next day he acts distant on instant messenger. Then when I avoid him in the chat forum he accuses me of being distant. Then he tells me he has many flirting friends and is swooning after a girl. So, I congratulate him and generally avoid him again in the forum. He then private messages me saying I am avoiding him again. I remind him politely, without giving away my feelings, that he likes someone else. He tells me she is not his gf. I’m at a loss. Anyways, I lost my faith in him. Not really into the player sort, So, I flirted with other people to make him know Im over him. He writes back that I should write him tomorrow. Is this guy an ass or having second thoughts about telling me he’s a flirt and wants a second chance?
Any thoughts?
I was seriously against online dating nonsense, but he seemed very honorable at first. Now i think he’s a waste of time. Am I wrong?
I’m divorced and so, I put this in the divorced section, because I don’t want replies from young people.

i would only say that if he could do it to you, he probably has and will did it to another woman with relations to the hot pursue. really. there might be a chance of getting a good guy but seriously what is the percentage of such? I know someone lately who was so addicted to browsing a dating site for women, it was amazing. he never knew even chat tools in the past and it all started when his buddy told him about the site. And he has already got a gf whom he knew for almost more than 5 years and they have bought a house together. what can we really say about their mindset? you are too good as a person to entertain him. just block and steer clear from him and the site. it won’t do you much good.

BIG waste of time…. online dating is not something to even consider now a days. I would avoid him and that chat room all together. If he IMs you, tell him you cant talk and eventually he’ll get the hint.
Stick a fork in this guy, he’s done. Why bother with such nonsense; you are right, he is a waste of your time. His actions are juvenile and life is too short to give this matter any more of your attention.
I would avoid the chat room you have both been a part of and block any emails and IMs from him.
He’s a manipulator. He is probably good behind a computer screen but probably not very good in reality. That is why he wants to computer date at a distance. Its nice and safe and he can fantasize.
On the other hand, what kind of chat room is this? Are you sure about your own motivations? If you are in a romance chat room or a 30-40 or 40-50 something type of room, yeah, people are looking and people will find each other and yeah, there will be a lot of game playing.
So if you are in THAT kind of chat room, you are asking for it and I would say, all’s fair in love and war,in those kind of chat rooms.
However, if you were in a computer chat room where people should be talking about software issues and this guy came on to you then I would say, he was out of line and you are perfectly fine.
Don’t get upset on social networking chat sites when other men approach you. They are looking, ok…which is not illegal, wrong or immoral…just risky. Why are you there if you really aren’t looking?
That is the question I have…and the thing you didn’t bother to mention.
