What blocks are going to become standard in Magic: The Gathering with then release of Zendikar? (MTG, Magic)?
With the release of Zendikar on the way what current standard blocks will be rotating out of standard into Extended?
I realize that the Lorwyn set will go when Zendikar comes in but will Morningtide also rotate out at the same time due to the fact that it makes up the Lorwyn block or will Morningtide rotate out when the second part of the Zendikar block is released?
Furthermoor, can anyone tell me what will become of Shadowmoor block when Zendikar comes out? Will Shadowmoor disappear into extended at the same time that Lorwyn block goes? Or will Shadowmoor rotate out at a later date?
MTG is really confusing when it comes to set rotations. I figured that I had better ask here as during the last rotation (Tenth Edition – which was also my first rotation since starting my addiction to MTG [and my defence as to why I am so clueless]) I was told that Lorwyn was rotating out along with Tenth, so clearly the guy who told me isn’t too reliable when it comes to getting answers.
Thanks

The set rotations for Standard were confusing at one point, but Wizards has actually been working on making the rotation changes easier to understand. The idea is that Standard format will always consist of the most recent core set as well as the two most recent expansion blocks.
That being said, when Zendikar is released on October 2nd, all of the Lorwyn block will rotate out. That includes Morningtide, Shadowmoor and Eventide.
If you’re ever unsure in the future, you can check this article from Daily MTG.
Lorwyn and 10th edition will be going into extended from standard: shards and zendikar and m10 will be in standard now
