I have had my ex served for contempt ,he has not paid support for years, what is giong to happen in court?
does any-one know what goes on when you take your ex back to court for contempt of child support? he has not paid in over seven years and this is the first time we have been able to serve him correctly by a constable and have proof. My court day is only 4 days away, and since he has been so good at dodgeing the system this long I dont know what he will come up with for his excuse of not paying his support obligations for so long. Ihave know idea of what to expect since this is the first time I will have him in frount of me and the courts for this issue, How does the judge handle fathers that put themselves in this position, and how does he handle the stories that these dads come up with to try to get out of there support obligations. It allmost frightens me to think of what his excuse can possibly be, after all is said and done I know this , his best intrest has not been with his daughter, she and I could of used his support, finacially and emotionaly all these years,

On the eve of the court, you need to get yourself in a calm state of mind, because the court day will be very stressful, and you need to impress upon the judge by your demeanor, that you are a mature person.
Wear your Sunday best to court, to show you recognize this is an extremely important formal affair.
The lawyer for the ex will make all kinds of outrageous claims … it is Ok to be annoyed, but you do not want to lose your cool, since that helps their side.
Then there will be testimony … your lawyer asks you some questions to illuminate the situation … then ex’s lawyer asks very hostile questions … you need to keep your cool, remain calm, tell the truth, don’t let ex’s lawyer get your goat.
Ex’s lawyer puts ex on stand and there’s questions, your lawyer has questions.
Judge has to make ruling based on evdence and testimony. This effort can be contaminated by either side behaving like a maniac, because the other side nonsense has caused you to lose your temper.
Judge has probably had thousands of similar cases.
