Sims 2: SimPE, HELP ME!!! PLEASE!!!?
I REALLY need somebody to help me on the SimPE thing, you knoe its were you can create and recolor furni and all of that. Well Im a HUGE fan of Charmed (T.V. Show on TNT) and I’ve made So many Halliwell Manor on my Sims2 Games (and exp’s) And there all so perfect But the only thing I’m missing on them are those GORGOUSE Stained Galss Windows Like in the front of the house. I have look EVERYWERE on www.thesims2.com.ea, and cannot find not 1. And I know there are some on like Modsims2, and TSR, and other sites but I dont know how 2 d-load them from other sites and put them in my game. I only know how to d-load from thesims2.com. So I really would Love for some one to explain to me How to make Stained glass windows (like on charmedCharmed, or just ANY stained glass window and ill work my way uo from there) on the SimsPE. I know how to do Some things on there like Recolor objects. But everytime I try to make stained glass windows i try to recolor it (theres also an option that says clone, But i have NO CLUE how to clone objects) I can only recolor the Frams of the Window, and not the glass. And please explain it clearly for me, lol, im kinda slow XD explain it like this; this is how i learned how to recolor on it:
Step 1:
The first thing you need to know is the in-game name of the object you want to recolor, for this tutorial I chose a bed, "Colonial Ironwood".
Step 2:
Open up SimsPE and click plugins -> Object Workshop.
* If this is the first time you have opened SimsPE it will take a while to load, as its getting all the object info.
Step 3:
Now you should see a giant list of all the objects in the game. Now start to type the name of the object you want to skin.
Once you have found it, click on it once.
Step 4:
At this point you should see a preview of the object and a few options.
Make sure you have selected "Color Options" & checked “Create Color Extension Package”
Now click start
* You will see a window popup, this breifly explains the software is beta, if your willing to participate click ok.
Step 5:
Now you should see a popup with 2 options, "bedding" & "frame". For this tutorial highlight bedding and press "select".
Step 6:
After SimsPE has done its magic, you will see 3 "file Types" (the only one you have to worry about is "texture image", click this.
Step 7:
Now click the "Plugin View" tab. You should now see a big image of the bed, right click this and go to export.
* It doesnt matter where you save it
Step 8:
Now start editing that image you just saved (I will leave this up to you )
* DON’T CLOSE SIMSPE!
Step 9:
Finished?
Right back to SimsPE, on the same image you clicked before right click it and go to import, point it to the image you just made and then right click again & select "Update All Sizes".
Step 10:
Now in the upper right of the Plugin View tab (right above the image), click “Commit”.
Now its time to save it, on the main menu click file -> save & your done!
To test it in the game place the file in your downloads folder.
Ok so yeah, that is clear and simple (for me XD) I found that on www.TheSimsFiles.com So if anyone knows how to do it or find a tourtial like this explaining it pleeeeease tell me
Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You only need to clone if you are making a new object with a new mesh. That is a far more complicated thing to do and you will not get any help with that here. The level of knowledge about the game here, especially modding it, is quite low. Besides which the instructions for cloning and remeshing are far more complex than just basic recolouring.
However, if you are just recolouring, you just need to follow that tutorial (which is quite old now but is still generally correct). You might need the NVidia utilities to do transparent recolours for windows which can be DL from the NVidia site and used with SimPE. Sigh – See it’s too complicated to explain that here. Really, this is a question for the more serious modding boards like SimPE and/or MTS2 not a casual fan BBS like this.
I don’t know why you’re worried about downloading existing custom content though. It’s really easy. At sites like MTS2 all you need to do is save the files attached to the threads (right-click and choose save). Put the files somewhere where you will find them easily – a lot of people do this on the desktop. Then, once saved, double-click on the file to open it – it’s usually a zip or rar file which is an archive type file. You might need to download WinRar off the net (which is freeware) to open rar files but there is a zip programme included in Windows.* Extract the contents – usually to the same place you have the file. Select the package files you extracted (you might find not all the files extracted are package files but package files are the only files the game reads). Right-click, choose move and put (right-click, choose paste) the files into Downloads. That’s it – a lot simpler than recolouring.
Here is a list of Halliwell related things I found on a quick search at MTS2:

*Personally, I use 7-zip which opens 7 types of archive file. This is also freeware.
I had real trouble with this program, until I found this tutorial…

It is a basic how to recolor tutorial. There are some more advanced tutorials for the program, but I had to follow this one before i could do anything!!! I hope it helps you too.
