Is the Army getting rid of the paper version of the ASVAB?
My recruiter told me that the Army is in the process of eliminating the paper version of the ASVAB. Is this true? I think he’s lying just to get me to take the CAT version on the computer. He’s always expressed how I get my score back faster on the computer version. So I figured he lied about them getting rid of the paper version.

The Army doesn’t control the ASVAB. Neither do the Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. The ASVAB is controlled by MEPCOM, so it seems to me, that your Recruiter doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
The ASVAB paper version is still being given around the States. The computer one is faster, and is better for your recruiter because he can receive the score right then and there.
Are you afraid of computers? Listen to your recruiter. There’s no point of doing it on paper.
Im not sure how true it is that they are getting rid of the paper test but I do know that there are many advantages (to both you and your recruiter) in taking the test on the computer.
on top of getting your results back very quickly, the computer test tailors itself to fit what you are better at, some people tend to think that fact makes it a little easier than the paper test.
not to mention the fact that the Assembling Objects portion of the ASVAB is not given in the paper test (at least not that I know)
