$14000 – which option sounds best (Australia)?
i have about ,000 of savings saved up and currently in a term deposit, and i will be selling my 2nd car (Ford raider) for around 00 – 00 sp that will make approx ,000 all up and i have a few ideas in mind but i cant make up my mind what i want to do.
summer is coming up in oz and the weather is just screaming for a convertible and i have spotted a few nice 1972 Ford Galaxie Convertibles in America in my price range which i really would like to own, but i will be only able to use it 6 months outta the year (convertibles in winter is not a good idea!) + import + conversion + rego = another 5-7thou, but i love driving and cruising in an old "land yacht" with the top down would be magic!
option 2: its been a really shitty year so far and im a bit depressed, so take the 4 thou from selling the 2nd car and bugger off to Thailand or some other cheap asian place for a while.
or should i just go with a home entertainment system, surround sound, 52" LED/LCD TV, DVD & bluray player, PS3 etc
all those are tempting since i want em all (i wish i was rich!), love driving and if i buy the car i would have something that’s worth around ,000 – ,000 in OZ, but it would be useless in winter, if i go to Thailand or some other cheap asian place id have some good memories and i can say ive traveled, if i buy the entertainment Package i don’t think id leave the house lol but it would all be outdated in 6months anyway.
if anyone can help me choose or has any other ideas to send me i would be much appreciated ![]()

A classic old car is fun for a month or two. They may eat you up in repair expenses. My son has a 76 Fire bird in his garage that
he probably has not driven in ten to fifteen years.
Those old 8 cylinder converts probably get 8 to 10 miles per gallon.
My experience has been that the best way to get rich is not
waste money. But if owning a lot of obsolete stuff is more
important than having wealth, well…that is a choice you always make.
I think you should travel.
It’s amazing out there, you won’t feel the same again. You’ll meet people, sometimes weird, sometimes cool… you’ll have heaps of stories to tell, photos to look at and remember, and you’ll find then you have things in common with other people who’ve traveled as well. It’s eye opening, and refreshing.
