now hes hanging out with one of my friends and telling them that im a shitty kisser and that he likes me but he can’t take that bad of a kisser
why don’t i get a chance at least to get better with him?

I agree. Even if you are a terrible kisser, a nice guy will not kiss and tell. I’ve kissed plenty of dreadful kissers and never once told their friends about it.

I think you are right for sure. He either meant that you were a bad kisser or was just "showing up" to your friend. Either way it is unacceptable for him to talk like that since a relationship isn’t based on kissing and it takes practice.
