How long did it take you to get over your ex-boyfriend?
I am planning on breaking up with my bf of almost four years. So just curious, long did it take people on average to get over their ex’s?

i think it really depends on the kind of relationship you had with them, how you feel about yourself, and how you feel they felt about you (in a way, sounds weird)
i, for instance, am a fairly dependent person with low self esteem, when my abusive boyfriend of 2 years dumped me i honest to God didn’t care. i was happier than i’ve ever been in the months after we split – then i found someone new a few weeks later.
that relationship lasted 8 months, and i was SO happy – finally. until it came crashing down. the break up was just over a month ago and i feel awful even though it hasn’t been very long. i know that i won’t be over it for a while, i loved him with all of me.
some people can get over things in an instant, if they’re fairly logical and reasonable, i find that people who are led by their emotions have a bit more trouble, like myself. it sounds like you will be ok, it’s interesting to know how other people feel about things like this.
It took two hours. I found the Sham to my Wow, and we later married.

i got dumped and it took me 2 weeks, believe me.
(a serious relationship of 2 years) the reason why it took so little is that i can control myself and be reasonable. actually the insecure attitude he had when breaking up with me had really helped.

1 year and a half
Your going to go crazy the 1st few months; so don’t check his Myspace or anything!! After a while you notice your not waking up thinking about him and each hours,day, weeks get easier and easier.

They say to get over an ex is to half the amount of time you was with this person for…so in your case to be really really over him 2 years.

It took me about 5-6 months, but we were together for 6 years. So, I think that is a fair amount of time. You will get over it, trust me.
can’t say as I never had a boyfriend lOL.
It took me 3 months. I found someone better and we ended up getting married

I’m still not over my ex-boyfriend and it’s been 7 months. It’s really hard but eventually you do get over it.
It truly depends on u. Each person is different n deal with there feelings in different ways. The circumstances behind the break up can also determine how long it take 4 u to get over a person.
It depend on do you want to rush into a relationship? Think about that if you really like a guy if you really love your ex before make sure you don’t get other guy into this.
it’s been about 5 years and I haven’t yet, I don’t think I ever really will. I’ve had a few girlfriends since, but some people come and go and you don’t really think too much about them after and some take a lifetime to forget. I had to move halfway across the planet to try and forget her, I just couldn’t take it seeing her when she was in town visiting my (our mutual) friends.
