How to take your rival out of the picture if you are wanting to win your ex back?
I have question that I need some serious help on. I have a best friend who lost his ex-girlfriend to another man (not known to us). And my best friend wants him out of the picture (not anything extreme, if you know what I mean) so that he may have another chance at winning her heart again. I wont go into details of how they broke up. My best friend is 30 and his ex is 25. Any suggestions from experienced people? If you were in my best friends shoes, how would you attempt to take your rival out of the picture and woo you ex back, no matter what the circumstances of the breakup was.

I think this chick tanya harding wrote a book about this..or served jail time. no wait, that was OJ simpson, but he killed his Ex too, so that didnt work either….i dunno. sign him up for selective service?
first you have to understand how highly unlikely it is that this situation will end well. It’s one thing to want another person, it’s another to actually break up with a relationship that is going well. Chances are low that she will leave her current to go back to her ex.
but if he wants to try anyways, he just needs to position himself as well as he can, woo her back. Tell her every single day how wonderful she is and how much he appreciates every little thing about her (giving specific examples!) and how losing her is the biggest mistake of his life. He’s got to be patient and not give ultimatums (him or me, choose now!) because he will lose if he does. It takes a lot of romance, and a lot of patience.
Playing offense makes people defense.
The dumpest thing he can do is try to "break them up" per se.
If your friend lost the girl to another guy the answer is for him to win her back. He needs to turn on the charm, even if the other guy somehow disappeared off the face of the earth that does not mean she would go out with your buddy again. So he needs to get her so wet for him that she is thinking "oh god I wish I could dump this loser and go out with my old boyfriend again." If she is not thinking like that then she is not going back to him.
I am not in favor of the "stay away from my girl!" tactic as it usually backfires and makes the other guy want her even more. What might work, although somewhat sleezy is to put another girl (or girls) into the mix. You want to make his grip on your girl as lose as possible.
If done right your friend can slip in there.
I don’t think there is really a way to take an ex out of the picture unless the girlfriend is willing to do it. He can’t control how his girlfriend feels about her ex. It’s her decision – she needs to make. And if she doesn’t choose him then he needs to move on to bigger and better things. He probably thinks there is no one like her but there are millions of people in the world and he will find love again! Good luck to him!
