Surya - It doesn't matter how long ago you stopped drinking; your wife feels that you have an issue with alcohol abuse. The only way to even begin to fix this problem between the two of you is to get help for yourself so that your wife can see evidence - real evidence - that you want to fix your marriage by getting treatment.

Find a treatment facility and check yourself into it. If in-patient treatment isn't possible, find an out-patient program and start going - immediately.

I'm sorry, but your wife sounds like she's fed up with years of your abuse of alcohol. The only way she might consider coming back to you is to make sure that you are committed to living a healthier life, where you no longer hurt your family.

Best wishes,

I hate to tell you darling- but you have already had a chance, which you did not take. You cannot convince her that you won't do it again because you had promised that before and did not keep your promise. It is not healthy to want to make her stay where she does not feel safe and happy... if you really do love her and your kids then let her go. They are not happy and safe with you.
