I have been into a relationship with a man for nearly 7yrs before marriage n were in love with each other.i m a Hindu by law n he is a Christian.we had our wedding in the church as well as the Hindu way.We also had a registered marriage.i am a flight attendant by profession and he is in good position at a BPO. i was working for a govt airline and prior to marriage was posted outside by matrimonial place.Transfers were difficult however not impossible.it was very clear tht i would not leave my job and was supported my both families and my husband.Therefore after marriage i had to shuttle between my workplace n my matrimonial place.It was difficult but i thoroughly managed.Just 4 months after marriage my husband started putting pressure that it was not working and that i could not continue my job and that i had to leave it immediately or he would divorce me.I was totally shocked by his behavior and kept telling him that transfer will happen sooner or later.Meanwhile i got an offer from an international airline again outside my matrimonial place however better as i would have to work only for 15days that too could fly out of my matrimonial place and the rest 15days were free.i told him about the same.He was hesitant about the same however later told me to apply and see.I went ahead and finally got the job.I had to go for a 3month training abroad and then could fly as quoted above.Only hitch was that this was just a contractual job of 5years.However i decided to leave my job n join this one to spend more time with my husband n to save my marriage.When i was about to go for my training my husband told me that if i would go for my training he would file for a divorce.He said that i he would send back all my jewelery and clothes.i begged and pleaded but in vain.I had to take a call as i did not want to be dependent on anyone for my living.i went for my training.i tried to call him a lot but in vain.he would not answer.When i returned from my traing i called him again and told him that everything is fine and that we can be happy together.i also told him that he can observe my work for 6 months and if does not work well then i will finally quit.But, again he said that now nothing can be done and that i should wait for his divorce.So now he has filed for a divorce and accused me that our marriage is not consummated and threfore he wants a divorce.How can i prove him wrong on this as this is totally false.Moreover i have left my permanent job and his allegation has disturbed our normal life in the society. now after few years i would have nothing to maintain my current lifestyle. Please help and tell me how can i get a compensation.Apparently my lawyer says i would not get anything as i am working.But if this is the case then any man can get married and then leave his wife for any reason and not give her compensation on the grounds that she is self-independent.Is this Justice?
One of the answer received tells me to go back to my husband but i would like to knw that what is the certainty in doing this?Today he tells me that leave the job or else i will divorce.Tomorrow it wud be –children will follow one religion or else i will divorce.The day after he would say if you don’t do like what i say i would divorce.Please tell me what is the harm in doing my job sincerely and also taking care of my family honestly.Is it that a women has no right to work.Also one of you have told me that taking caring of parents is not necessary as it is their responsibility to do so for their children and not visa verse.
