Make sure you stay in their life after you break up. Be friends with them immediately after, show your caring and all the good things about yourself. This will not allow them to get over you and eventually they’ll get back with you.
This wasn’t possible in my recent break up, being the dumpee i couldn’t be friends with him right away. But it did work for my friend

I got my ex back just be being there and being nice.
Of course he left me for his ex after that, so I don’t really think it was worth it.
I dumped him and trust me – there was nothing he could have done that would have made me take his sorry butt back – ever.

how did i get him back well i stayed friends with him, showed him i was still there for him gave him his space and supported him when he needed a best friend, he saw all the things i did for him and loved me for who i was and it came gradually.
communication is the best foundation for a good relationship, if you dont have that then its very hard to get back what you didnt have.
