question: people online vs in "real life"?
this doesnt apply to just dating sites, buy myspace too and whatnot. people say, "oh there’s so many weridos online…and they could be married or an ex convict etc and people could lie about themselves too." but cant that happen in real life too? of course!
its funny…because i took the bus to my college the other month and saw these two guys in the same sweat clothes, so as we all got off the bus, i joked, "hey you guys twins?" we also got one the other bus and they seemed nice enough to chat with ya know. well after another 1 or 2 times of seeing them, i find out they had just been in jail, for like posession or something.
yet, back in 2005, i was on my collee forum on myspace and i met a guy on there who turned out to be my best friend for a yr…nicest, most honest guy you’ll ever meet.
back in 2004 i met a girl on line…few months of talking, we meet and it turned out to be a longterm 1 year relationship.
point is, you can meet weirdos, liars, ANYWHERE.

I’ve always thought that people act more like their true self online, where there are much less consequences, than in real life. In real life people say what is right and do what they are expected to. In the freedom of the Internet, they do what they really want and say what they really think instead of having to be politically correct or anything.

Yea, that’s true, but they can make it seem a lot more realistic that they are someone else online They could be a 60 year old with a 20 year olds picture and talk to you until you trust them to meet them. You would never believe that meeting them in person. Yea, there are weirdos and all kinds of people everywhere though.

people on the net can be as real as you are. afterall, every normal person uses the internet these days. but of course there are weirdos and pedos on the internet, not every one is like that though. ive met two guys on this one yahoo game. at first i was scared of meeting them because ive heard a lot of bad rumors of meeting people off the net, but everything turned out fine. they weren’t any internet creep or weirdo. i wasnt hooking up with them. we just decided to meet each other to hang out because we found out we live near each other.
i think meeting people on the internet is fine, but you need to becareful about it. and when you people do plan to meet, you should meet at a public area for safety. and bring a friend if you are scared of meeting someone alone.
