My boyfriend has back taxes. Some before his ex wife and some with her. She never became responsible for his taxes. At least I don’t think she did but I heard I will when I marry him. That if we file taxes we should file married but not joint. Of course I want the tax benefit of being married. So is it true his back taxes become mine?

My husband works at I don’t. He was less than thrilled last year when they garnished HIS wages from unpaid student loan I had before we got married. He got half of it back it took forever etc. How should we file this year? If we do it seperately we won’t get EIC or Child Tax Credit. Any help? He was real upset with me last year since it was all the money HE earned. Thanks! :)

I would like to take advantage of filing "married filing jointly." But my husband may not have filed a return about 5 years ago. We know that they kept his last refund… So we are wondering, where we could find out if we filed together, if they would keep some or all of the refund.

Also, he will be a 1099 this year, how does this affect the refund?

I’m desperately needing help with my bills. I’m not receiving child support and I’m tired of his games. My child doesn’t have insurance and I can’t afford to put her on mine and the AR Kids insurance system in my state says I make too much money. I need him to be hunted down and made to take care of his responsibility.
