Ok so I kind of have questions, or rather challenges to arguments against gay rights and using the bible as evidence.
1). Often times people say that they just want to keep the definition of marriage the same. But historically we have changed it quite frequently. I mean, before you parents got to choose who you could marry and they also had polygamy. To get to the point where marriage is now, we had to change it. (OK so this is the question) What would be the harm of changing the definition of marriage just one more time to make it more equal?
2). OK so a lot of people are against gay marriages because they say its against the Bible. Firstly, in the new testament, Jesus never says anything condeming gay marriage, but rather just says that he wants you to marry and have kids and all that. That is no real condemtion of gay marriage. Also, the whole concept of Christianity is that man is flawed, and we can be saved through Jesus. Now, if man is flawed, and God is all that is perfect, wouldn’t that mean that our clumsy human hands that wrote the Bible make an imperfect documentation of the word of God?
3). The Bible has polygamy, so why should we trust this book with the teachings of a God that enables this immorality? I know, everyone says you can’t compare marriage customs back then, but the thing is GOD DID NOT STOP THIS in the Bible. Since he didn’t, that either means he feels it is OK or he is an enabler, thus making him imperfect.
Mike, I do not believe you answered any of my questions.
For all you guys calling homosexuality abnormal, I hope none of you are religious, which is a far worse mental state. Or is ignorance the norm?
Yes i did see Chuck and Larry, that was so awesome. I felt sorry for that guy because people thought he was the cathcher : D
