I have an 11 month Lhasa Poo puppy and he stays in the house because he’s a small dog, 17 pounds. When he notices that the front door is open, he tries to run outside. When he is able, he runs far and tries to get away from us. When I call him back, he doesn’t come, and runs further away. How can I train him to come back when I call if he is outside? Is this just something that he does because he’s still a puppy, even though he is neutered? I have heard that there are things that I can put up to stop him from going somewhere: somewhat like "invisible fences" around my house, is this true?
