Hi my speech is on genetic modification. Can you guys look at it and tell me if you like it or not so far? It is not finished. and thanks or your time :D

Have you ever dreamt of having a child who looks like Harry Potter? Well it is no longer considered magic but it is very much in the face of reality. Yes you can make you child look like Batman or superman and they could break through metal walls and flying with X-ray vision and saving the world from destruction. OK maybe not that far but you get what I mean. Yes this ‘magic’ is called Genetic modification or genetic engineering. It is possible to make your children look like Tom Cruise; Genetic Modification goes so far that scientists say that they can give a brain which is as smart as Albert Einstein. Can you believe it; you can have someone who looks like Paris Hilton with the brain of Einstein! You are probably thinking that this is too good to be true and that I am probably lying but let me explain to you what Genetic Modification is and the many advantages it brings along with the many problems it may create in the future.

Genetic Modification! The name says it all, it a bit like cloning except for some difference. With cloning you can make someone look identical to their parents. But Genetic Modification can change the characteristics of a living organism or you can even remove bad genes which run in the family, for example cancer, heart disease and eye-sight problems. Plants and animals can be given characteristics. To do this they change the DNA in the nucleus of the cell. If they want to put in a specific gene, the use a gene gun, it fires microscopic bullets; no these are not life-threatening bullets coated with gunpowder but ones coated in foreign DNA into a plant or embryo, embryo is just another fancy name for a fertilized egg. The foreign DNA combines with the host’s DNA and alters the host’s genetic make-up.

Simple, isn’t it? This technology allows us to physically change the appearance or any genes of a plant or animal. It brings with it many advantages. Genetic Modification is becoming very popular in plants and mainly is aimed at crop production. Using genetic modification they can improve the quality of the crops like flavour, appearance and nutritional value. They can also increase the tolerance of the crops, like less need for water. Genetic modification food supporters say that Genetic engineering is essential in feeding the worlds population. The reasons for this is that in countries where the soil is poor using GM they can make the crops grow in those conditions and can make summer crops grow in winter.
Yes lol i know it is not as simple as that but it is a 5min speech and i cant really explain everything about how it works. And thanks the first answer, i can use your info in my speech, it will really help me :D

i am 20 years old. when i was 12 i was obsessed with magic tricks and my father being very religious would tell me to get rid of all those tricks and toys because supposedly "god hates that" stuff. i didn’t buy it, i simply told my father "dad they are just tricks, all for fun". after this, id say a few weeks later, when we were all asleep i woke up in the middle of the night, between 2 am to 3 am, i felt hot and was sweating a bit, everyone else seemed to be sleeping fine, i tried hard to go back to sleep but it got hotter and more sweat followed. so i decided to go downstairs to the kitchen and get myself some milk or water to cool off but for some reason i was afraid. so i woke up my younger brother who was 8 at the time, and i asked him if he would accompany me downstairs so i could get a quick drink, he agreed. when we returned back upstairs to bed, i was still feeling the same, but then i got a little surprise my brother came into my room and told me he felt hot and couldn’t sleep, i responded by saying "yeah me too!" so i jumped out of the covers and we both went out into the hallway between the rooms. at this point we were fully awake. it was an awkward moment for a few seconds, us just standing in the hallway, i finally asked a simple question "so what should we do?" he replied "i don’t know" and i immediately got an idea and said "hey! i just bought a new box of magic tricks from toys r us yesterday, you want to play with them?" and he got excited and said "sure!". so i pulled the box of tricks out of the closet and we started trying out and experimenting with the tricks while sitting on the hallway floor upstairs. i all of a sudden got the feeling of using the restroom so i said "jason keep playing, ill be back, i have to use the restroom", now the restroom is located right next to this hallway, i didnt see the point in closing the door because all i felt was the need to take a leak. now here is where i need explanations. as i headed for the faucet to wash my hands, while looking into the sink i saw out of the corner of my right eye toward the counter what seemed to be the toothbrushes moving or being dragged to the right on their own, i also heard the dragging noise with it, as soon as i reacted to the movement and focused my attention at the toothbrushes, they were now motionless, i stood there asking myself "did i just see what i think i saw?" then without warning the toothbrushes were thrown at me, im not sure if "thrown" would be correct because nobody but me was present in the bathroom, but they did "flew" on their own, one brush hit my face while the other hit the wall above the bath tube then landed on the floor, i quickly looked outside to the hallway to find my brother staring into the bathroom with a frightened look. i asked him "did you see that?!" me thinking i had done real magic, he said slowly "yeah", then he took off running to my parents room, i stood there thinking about it, and i realized that this was strange, so i took off to that same room. we ended up sleeping on the floor of my parents room. we still discuss this with each other and we try to figure out if there is any explanation for it. keep in mind that there are no windows in the bathroom. what could this have been? is there any scientific explanation? i really want to know. and no i didnt make this up, this really took place.
captain america, no, it was one of those sets that come with all kinds of card tricks, magic dices, colored scarfs, vanishing boxes, coin tricks, etc.
everyone keep in mind that i am NOT religious, i always seek after knowledge, and this is about the only event in my life that i don’t have an answer to.

Prologue

It was the eve of All Hallow’s Day, 1859. A scientist and his partner were in a lab, working on a new experiment. They both wore dark coats and gloves, and neither of them spoke as they anxiously watched the bubbling pot in front of them.
The scientists glanced at each other. They were experimenting with different substances, trying to invent a new element, something beyond imaginable. Neither of them knew what was going to happen.
It was dark and cold outside, the only light coming from the moon that shone from behind the clouds. Candy wrappers littered every doorway and porch around the neighborhood, and some children in costumes were heading home after a long night of trick-or-treating.
The scientists glanced at each other. They were experimenting with different substances, trying to invent a new element, something beyond imaginable. Neither of them knew what was going to happen.
Then, suddenly, there was a tremendous explosion.
Booming, ear-splitting noises filled the room. Sparks could be seen through the thick black smoke. Then, just as abruptly as it all started, the explosions immediately became quiet. The room looked as if nothing had happened at all, except for the large metal pot. It was no longer boiling, in fact, there was not a drop of liquid in it anymore. The only object, which lay at the bottom, was a small, golden key.
The old scientist picked it up and studied it, trying to figure out how the elements he had mixed could make up a key. It looked ordinary, like one that could open a house door. It gleamed in the light, looking like it was glowing. Later people said that it looked as if it were actually producing its own light.
Eventually, after the two partners constantly experimented with the mysterious key, they finally discovered the key’s true purpose. It really wasn’t an ordinary key at all: It had the power to do the impossible. The scientist found out three powers that the key possessed: to bring the dead back to life, to kill any supernatural creature, and, its most special—and evil—power, to combine a single spirit with another person’s dead body, which will give the spirit life, and the body of the person. However, this could only be done if the spirit’s goal was to harm someone.
The key’s powers could also be stored in case it was ever stolen or it could not be used, but the powers would still not have the same effect as they would have if they were used with the item itself.
This is where the scientist’s partner comes in. The elderly woman, called Lucridna, was a so-called witch, yet she appeared to be kind and friendly. But she was known to make magic and potions in her home when she was alone that could do what all things normally do that witches make: Cure illnesses and misery, create living animals from magical liquids, everything. And she looked like one two; you would if you had long, straggly hair that flew out around your head and always had an extremely serious, almost solemn expression on your face. (Many people compared her to dreams: when you looked at her, it was as if you were having a nightmare, but once you got to know her, you were experiencing a wonderful, yet rather strange dream, and when you were away from her, it was as if you were awake, and you had an urge to be in that same wonderful, or strange, dream again.)
If you ever meet a lady who looks like this, stay away from her. It is bound to be her, and no matter how kind she seems to be, she is indeed very evil, due to one evil crime she committed.
When the two partners, the scientist and the “witch,” discovered the key’s powers, they decided to call it the Key of Life because they could bring people back to life and give spirits life, or at least since they would have a body. The scientist kept it in a secure case in his house, so that it would not disappear.
Well, Lucridna, the witch, was jealous, and wanted the key of her own. She had a plan to use the Key of Life to live an everlasting life; to become immortal.
So one night, weeks later, at exactly 12 o’clock a.m., the witch crept into the scientist’s house and attempted to steal the key.
However, there was one last power that she was unaware of.
As soon as the witch Lucridna laid her hands on the golden key, there was an explosion, not unlike the one that occurred just before the Key of Life was made.
When the scientist woke up, after all the commotion, Lucridna lay on the floor, dead.
He realized what she had tried to do, and concluded that any human who attempts to steal the Key of Life will instantly be killed.
Eventually, the scientist died, and the magical key was passed down to his only son. The son passed it down to his son, and then he passed it down to his child: The first daughter that this family had ever had in generations. None of these people knew about the key’s special powers, but the girl felt that something special, something magical, something powerful, was
churning around deep inside the key. She kept it as a charm and always carried it in her pocket, to always let her remember her late grandfather and great-grandfather.
The young girl still lives today with the Key of Life. But the spirit of the witch Lucridna still haunts the Earth, seeking her revenge…

Do you really believe everything those Atheist Scientists tell you?

The average homeowner feels they can trust the professional electrician who wired their house to know what he’s doing. Most electricians have had formal training or years of experience in their field of expertise, and that’s good because you trust them with the safety of your home and the lives of your family.

But how much do they really know about electricity?

Some of the things they think they know are nothing more than circular logic or assumptions based on assumptions! This has led to some very wrong thinking and has to be corrected time and time again, yet they claim to have all the right answers on matters electrical.

For example, ask an electrician how they know how much voltage is in a circuit. You’ll be told about the magic little box called a voltmeter which can wondrously measure the invisible, odorless, weightless electrons and give the voltage. How do they calibrate this device to be so accurate? They run voltage through it and set it to match! Of course, you can clearly see the voltage they run through it would be known because it had been measured by a voltmeter, and on and on in a prime example of circular logic.

The truth is they don’t even care enough to change major mistakes when they find them. When they first started their arcane art, they guessed at which direction the electrons were moving and assigned the familiar positive and negative signs according to that – but they got it backwards! A century or two later, they decided they had it backwards but did not bother to change it except when working on things like designing computer chips. They’ll tell you “it’s good enough” or “it doesn’t matter” when it comes to your home, but since when has completely backwards from reality been good enough on something as deadly as electricity in your home? What if a gunsmith told you backwards doesn’t matter when shooting a gun?

Electronicists are often at a loss when confronted with evidence that doesn’t fit their beliefs. Light bulbs are not actually "light bulbs" but dark absorbers. When you turn them on, they suck the dark out of the room. You can prove this by holding your hand under a "light bulb". The dark will stack up under your hand where its path to the absorber is blocked by your hand. When they quit working and turn a dark color, it’s not because they burnt out, it’s because they’re full. I once explained this to an electrician and he was at a complete loss for anything to say. I could tell by the way his shoulders were convulsing as he walked away he was sobbing, and he avoided talking to me about electricity from then on. I didn’t bother to tell him that electrons don’t really exist (they have never been directly observed by anyone), but that electricity works with magic smoke. If you touch the wrong two wires together, the magic smoke leaks out and the circuit stops working.

By now it should be clear to the objective reader that electricians may think they know about electricity, but it’s really nothing more than the guesses they’ve been taught to believe as fact by the self interests that controls the electrical industry. In any of the “official” codebooks and research journals they refuse to publish anything from outside their secular clique so they keep control of all information on the subject, even going as far as convincing lawmakers to force their beliefs on the public. More and more communities even have laws requiring all electricians to be approved by the secular code and forced to follow the Electronicism dogma in their work!

When will they stop searching for the ‘reasons’ or ‘excuses’ for why people become overweight? People want to eat McDonalds, sit in front of the computer ALL day, and own all the conveniences that make life easier.

Then they say, "I wish doctors and scientists will figure it out.There has to be some reason for this." But what they mean is, "I wish doctors and scientists can figure it out and make that magic pill so that I can continue to nothing about this on my own because I want the rewards without having to work for it."
I don’t mean that everybody will have a model’s body. A person can be big and still be healthy.
